    A great example of asian cuisine in Canberra. Try the degustation menu, you won't be disappointed.

    I took my husband here for his birthday after a couple of friends recommended it. The restaurant is in a small, bland group of shops but don't let first impressions fool you. The staff are professional, polite and very helpful. The food is delicious and varied. The menu the night we went catered to all tastes, including vegetarians and vegans (which we're not, but this may be handy to know). It is not inexpensive, but it does not disappoint either.

    Everything was utterly delicate, flavorful and delicious. I'm so glad we discovered this beautiful gem in the heart of Canberra.

    As for the food. It was fantastic. My partner and I got the tasting menu and it was worth it. From start to finish each serving was unreal. The speciality of the prawns rightfully holds it place as they were an absolute treat.

    Although the location - across from a dry cleaners and in a tiny local suburban shopping outfit - may bring the wrong impression, Lanterne Rooms is a fantastic fine dining experience. The staff were lovely and knowledgeable about the food they were serving.
